To date, one can find a wide range of methods to choose gender of baby. Most of which involve technical processes which stirs a lot of controversy, ethical and moral considerations at the same time. In this article, we will be discussing the formal and informal techniques used to choose gender of baby. Aside from explaining the method, we will also discuss the pros and cons of each technique as well as other dilemmas surrounding it.

Informal gender selection – First, we will discuss the informal techniques used to choose gender of baby. Most of which, like a baby gender quiz or a baby gender calculator, lack scientific proof and is more often than not, disagreed by health care providers. In this method, choosing the sex of your baby is believed to start in the bedroom. Having sexual intercourse comes with timing, a specific position and the frequency of the intercourse – all these need to be closely monitored throughout the conception period. Dr Landrum Shettles, a famous personality, upholding the informal gender selection technique believes that several methods ca be done in order to have a girl or a boy. To increase the chances of having a baby boy, sexual contact should happen 24 hours before ovulation. The intercourse should be done in such a position which allows the sperm to get faster to the eggs. On the other hand, if you want to have a girl, intercourse should be done on a frequent basis – right from the start of the cycle until ovulation. It is also believed that the missionary position increases the chance of having a baby girl.

The informal method of gender selection has a number of pros and cons. The pros include having a great chamce of choosing baby sex as opposed to not trying ay all. On the other hand, the downside about this technique is the inadequacy of the method, frustration and imperfect timing.

Formal gender selection – Some couples make use of formal techniques to be able to choose gender of baby. These medical methods separate the X-bearing from the Y-bearing chromosomes to result in either a female or male fetus. Embryo selection, a type of vitro fertilization, is also another formal method of gender selection. This process can be a little bit costly and is usually used to enable someone to become pregnant.

The advantage of going for formal gender selection techniques is that they have high rates of success and a lower chance for failure. The pros; however, will include high costs, dealing with ethical issues and having to undergo medical, sometimes surgical, procedures.

If you favor a certain gender for your next pregnancy, feel free to consider either of these methods. Just keep in mind the consequences, the costs, the process and the other factors of the technique you choose. If you have a strong religious faith, for instance, going for a formal method may stir ethical issues among your group. Weight the consequences and the costs. Choose one which will fit your needs, beliefs and lifestyle best.

Being pregnant truly is a once in a lifetime and an absolutely wonderful experience. With that said, there is an aspect of pregnancy which can be difficult for many women. What commonly is referred to as morning sickness plagues many women who are pregnant. Through this article you are provided with some insights into how you can best deal with what most people still call morning sickness.

At the outset, it is important to understand that the nausea associated with being pregnant can occur throughout the day and night and is not confined to the morning. Many women historically have experienced pregnancy related nausea in the morning. But, calling it morning sickness really is something of a misnomer.

In addition, you need to understand that nausea associated with pregnancy is normal, particularly during the first trimester. However, with that said and understood, if you find that you are suffering from severe nausea or if you find that you are spending a good deal of time nauseated, you definitely will want to speak with your doctor. There are some rather rare instances in which nausea during pregnancy can be the consequence of something more serious. Therefore, you really do want to make sure that you visit with your doctor if the nausea you are experiencing associated with your pregnancy is more severe and unrelenting.

There is no definitive conclusion as to why some experience severe nausea during the course of a pregnancy while others don’t. Most experts tend to agree that the various physical changes that accompany a pregnancy are the prime factors that lead to pregnancy related nausea. Specifically, many of these experts agree that hormone known as human chorionic gonadotropin is the prime contributor to the nausea that is suffered by many women who are pregnant. Some research also suggests that the hormone estrogen also plays a contributing role in the nausea that is suffered during pregnancy by some women.

You are likely to find that certain foods aggravate a condition of pregnancy related nausea. The reality is that this differs from woman to woman. Therefore, you will have to go through a period of trial and error until you eliminate those foods that aggravate your nausea and those that do not. On a related note, some women experience some relief from pregnancy related nausea by eating certain food items or drinking certain beverages. Once again, this does differ from person to person and you will need to experiment a bit in this regard. As an side, simply because a food or beverage may have helped control nausea when you were not pregnant does not mean that it will have the same effect when you are pregnant.

As mentioned previously, if the symptoms of pregnancy related nausea become more severe or seem to persist without any relief, you must see your doctor. There needs to be a determination made that nothing more serious is going on. Moreover, your physician can recommend medications that may help to relieve your pregnancy relate nausea symptoms.

There are many issues that you will confront during the early weeks of your pregnancy. Your body (obviously) will be undergoing many different changes. Moreover, what can happen during the early weeks of a pregnancy can be different from one pregnancy to the next. One occurrence that you very well may face when it comes to the early stages of your pregnancy is spotting, the vaginal discharge of either red or brown blood.. Through this article you are provided some basic information about spotting during the initial weeks of a pregnancy and what you need to do in regard to spotting.

During the first trimester of a pregnancy spotting is common. In fact, about 1 in 3 women have some spotting early in pregnancy and in the vast majority of cases, spotting during the early weeks of a pregnancy is nothing to get too concerned about.

In some instances, spotting during the early weeks of a pregnancy can also be accompanied by cramping in lower abdomen or lower back pain. This discomfort can be rather like what you may have experienced associated with your period in the past.

If you find that you are experiencing spotting after you exercise, after sex, or even after a particular hectic or busy day, you might want to consider reducing these activities for the time being until the spotting ceases. (And, if all goes as it should, the spotting will stop sooner rather than later.)

Technically or biologically speaking, spotting is caused by the process of the thick bed of blood vessels in the endometrium as the blastocyst implants into the uterine wall. The blastocyst is the fertilized egg that has yet to implant into the uterine wall. Through this process, some blood natural is released from the uterine wall which is the cause of the spotting itself. Some experts also maintain that spotting tends to occur in a woman at that juncture in time when she normally would have experienced menses had she not become pregnant.

Though in the majority of cases of spotting it is a normal part of the pregnancy process, it can occasionally be an early warning sign of other problem, especially if it’s associated with pain or heavy bleeding. For example, it can be an alert that a miscarriage is in the offing or it could mean the the pregnancy is outside the uterus, and ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, if the nature of your spotting changes (or if you do have any concerns about spotting) and/or if you have pain then you need to contact you doctor immediately.

In addition, if the color of the spotted blood is pink or brown, this also is a sign that “things are normal.” However, if the spotted blood becomes bright red, you need to see your doctor immediately. The same holds true is clots are passing along with the spotting. These can all be signs that something more serious is occurring that requires immediate medical attention.

Finally, while spotting is normal in the first trimester, it can be the sign of a serious problem if it occurs during the second and third trimesters. In such instances, you must seek medical attention immediately.
