Despite the many advances in technology that we have today, there are a few situations wherein the couples are greeted by an unexpected baby gender. For most, this is not a big deal but for a few people, this can be very disappointing, traumatic and difficult to accept. Parents who experience this dilemma should keep in mind that it is impossible to be with your child all the time; however, we can do the best we can to protect our child while we are with them.

Some parents feel unable to connect to a specific gender – In some cases, mothers do not see themselves taking care of a baby girl or a baby boy. For instance, if the mother is not too feminine, one of her fears is not being able to impose femininity to her daughter. The same thing is true for single mothers who are about to give birth to a boy. They fear that will fail in raising a man.

They have had enough – Some parents couples who have had 3 boys would hope for a girl for their fourth born. The same thing is the case for couples who have had 3 girls. They have big hopes of finally making a girl. This situation can cause anger, huge disappointment, depression and sadness on the part of the parents.

Pressure from the family – Some couples are pressured by their parents or relatives to have a boy. This may have something to do with old family traditions and inheritance issues.
